CCNA portable command guide (640-802)-cisco press
Posted by shadow on August 16, 2009
This book is for those people preparing for the CCNA exam, whether through self-study, on-the-job training and practice, or even through study within the Cisco Networking Academy Program. There are also some handy hints and tips along the way to hopefully make life a bit easier for you in this endeavor. It is small enough that you will find it easy to carry around with you. Big, heavy textbooks might look impressive on your bookshelf in your office, but can you really carry them all around with you when you are working in some server room or equipment closet somewhere?

CCNA Study Guide(Exam 640-802)-Richard Deal
Posted by shadow on August 16, 2009
The primary objective of this book is to help you achieve the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification so that you can enhance your career. I believe that the only way you can increase your knowledge is through theoretical and practical learning. In other words, this book provides the book learning as well as basic hands-on experience that you’ll need to pass the exam. However, once you pass the CCNA exam, your journey is just beginning: you’ll need to enhance your newly acquired skills with additional reading and a lot of hands-on experience. This book covers all the exam objectives posted on Cisco’s web site concerning the CCNA 640-802 exam as well as the ICNDv1 640-822 and ICNDv2 640-816 exams. Each chapter covers one or more of the main objectives in this list, especially as it relates to how things work and how to configure them on Cisco’s routers and switches. Appendix B has a breakdown of Cisco’s objectives and indicates which chapter in this book covers those objectives.

Network Security: A Beginner’s Guide
Posted by shadow on September 14, 2008
Network Security: A Beginner’s Guide. It seems that the title of this book defines what it is about pretty well. But this book is not just a beginner’s guide. In writing this book, I attempted to pick out the issues that confront me on a day-to-day basis. Most of these issues caused me much consternation over the years, and it would have been very helpful for me to have had all of this information at my fingertips.
